Amit Singh Announces New Goal for March
Arlington, Virginia – On Monday morning, the Amit Singh Congressional Campaign unveiled its new fundraising goal
for the month of March, announcing its target of $25,000 by the 31st. The previous goal had been $20,000 by month's
end, with the announcement coming on the heels of an event on Friday in which over $9,000 was raised.
"It was an absolutely tremendous response by many dedicated supporters," said Singh. "At the event, we announced our goal of raising $20,000 by the end of the month, but we came away having reached that mark by the end of the night."
More than 60 people attended the event which provided an outlet to meet with Amit Singh and interact with supporters from Virginia's 8th district. Up to that point, the campaign had raised approximately $10,000 for the Congressional race.
"With the ability to raise $9,000 in a single day, Amit Singh proved he can contend with Jim Moran in the November general election," said Campaign Manager Steve Bierfeldt. The Republican party of Virginia wants a nominee who is capable of providing a real challenge, and they have that in Amit Singh."
A strong supporter of personal liberty, lower taxes, and limited government, Singh believes he stands an excellent chance to win the general election in what is traditionally accepted as a district heavily favored for the Democratic Party.
While running on a platform of open government and straightforward answers, the campaign displays its fundraising numbers on the front page of its website, www.Amit08.com. Viewers to the site can see updated figures regarding how much the campaign has raised.
I think we're really keeping in line with the campaign's promise of openness and sincere leadership," Bierfeldt stated. "While some campaigns may advertise pledges or expected donations, we're only promoting what we've actually raised. That's the honesty we feel voters here deserve."
This week Amit Singh will be meeting with local reporters and bloggers to discuss his vision for the future of Virginia's 8th Congressional District. Those who wish to learn more should contact the campaign by visiting Singh's website, www.Amit08.com.
